“a small space for big ideas”

Coming Soon

“BAË Infinite: Beyond All Else”

Local Color is proud to present BAË Infinite: Beyond All Else, a multidimensional art exhibition opening August 8, 2025 at noble workshop & gallery in downtown San José.

In commemoration of Black August, BAË Infinite brings together visual art, poetry, and sound to honor the rich continuum of Black, African, and Afro-diasporic creativity. Featuring selected works by artists Tachiya Bryant, Shari BryantHunter Saxony III, and Ian Young, the show explores the dynamic cultural contributions of Black storytelling and collective memory as acts of resistance, healing, and world-building.

Visitors are invited to participate in a collective moment of silence in honor of Black August, a time of remembrance and resistance, and to experience works that illuminate personal narratives, nods to expansive culture, and emergent visions of the future.

This work was made possible with support from the City of San José Office of Cultural Affairs, the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, SVCreates, a Sharks Foundation Community Assist Grant, the Knight Foundation and San Jose Downtown Association’s Arts & Marketing Grant, and PARKSJ.

Exhibition Dates:
 August 8 - September 5, 2025

“Interwoven”

For the 5th Annual Experimental Exhibition, genARTS Silicon Valley, in partnership with Local Color, invite submissions that examine the threads that bind us, whether they are visible or invisible, personal or collective. What connects you to others, your community, or the world at large? How do joy, resistance, care, or shared experience become the threads weaving our lives together?

Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme broadly. Submissions may explore relationships, networks of support, safety nets, or moments of solidarity. Your work might examine connection and disconnection, celebrate community, or challenge us to see the ways we are interwoven. This exhibition aims to spark dialogue about the ties that hold us together and the creative potential of coming together as “us” in the “US” during this current turbulent political climate.

We invite Santa Clara County artists of all levels working in painting, drawing, mixed media, fiber/textile, photography, printmaking, sculpture, digital art, film, and animation to apply.

interwoven will be on view at Local Color's noble workshop & gallery from Friday, October 3 through Thursday, October 30, 2025.

It is free to submit and submissions are open now through Monday, August 25.

Exhibition Dates: October 3 - 30, 2025
