Designed and painted by Wisper

In partnership with Somos Mayfair, The Latino Business Foundation of Silicon Valley, and Excite Credit Union

After working with the partners at La Esquina (located on the commercial floor of Quetzal Gardens on 1695 Alum Rock Ave), artist, mentor, and organizer with Together We Create, Wisper, was selected to adorn the wall of the shared lobby space in Fall 2023. With the mural, the partners aimed to convey a sense of welcoming as visitors would see themselves and their homes reflected in the artwork.

Wisper’s design features the building’s namesake, the quetzal, flying over the familiar Mayfair Neighborhood where La Esquina is located. The mural also features the diverse community making up the neighborhood and themes of small business and women-empowerment as shown by the vendor in the center of the painting.
