Brandon Roos

Brandon Roos is passionate about sharing the unique perspectives that define the creative character of the South Bay.

A proud San Jose native who grew up in the city’s Berryessa neighborhood, Brandon completed his English degree at San Jose State University, where he also minored in Theatre Arts. Since graduating, he has maintained a close relationship with the South Bay arts scene.

Brandon began his non-profit journey at San Jose Jazz, where he started as a marketing intern. Both full-time and seasonally across numerous years, he crafted mission-driven content that promoted the organization’s performance and education initiatives, including the signature San Jose Jazz Summer Fest.

Since 2011, he’s worked as a freelance arts journalist. Guided by a research-driven approach, his pieces seek to humanize his subjects and promote art’s universal beauty. His articles have appeared in Content Magazine, KQED Arts, Metro Silicon Valley, and Hip Hop DX. In recent years, his work has extended into partnerships with higher education and sporting institutions, including San Jose State University, West Valley College, and the San Jose Earthquakes.
