loco recess
LoCo Recess is a FREE week of creative workshops led by local Artists and community organizers to empower and encourage San José's Youths. This project's inspiration comes from the unity seen on July 4th, 2020, during the painting of the "Black Lives Matter" mural across from Backesto Park. 100's of community members from families, local organizations, and artists all came together to create this meaningful statement for the public. Local Color supports the movement toward developing equitable policies and feel grateful to work with Youths to find joy and power through art. The workshops are free thanks to donations from the community and SVCreates Local Art Grant.
